Maximizing the Lifespan of Your Jewelry: Expert Tips on Proper Care

Let's discuss how to properly care for your jewelry so you get the most out of it. Regardless of who manufactures it or where it comes from costume jewelry requires a certain level of care. For example, you should avoid these 5 S's.

1. Sleeping- Before you lay your pretty little on your pillow remove your jewelry. It could easily get snagged on your bedding, twisted or broken.

2. Sweating- What's that you say? You don't sweat you glisten? Well, all that glistening could ruin your jewelry. I'm not talking about light sweat but if you are getting in a good workout you should remove your jewelry.

3. Showering- Although it's not an everyday topic of discussion our water contains chemicals that could react to the alloys in your jewelry. This can cause it to rust, fade, or change colors so it's best not to submerge it in water.

4. Spraying - Your jewelry should be the last thing you put on so you don't spray it with perfume or body mist. Whether a bespoke fragrance, a knockoff, or a high-end brand your jewelry does not like wearing perfume.

5. Swimming - I see you, lady! Laying on the beach or perhaps you prefer a seat by the pool? You look great and so does your jewelry but it won't if you get into the water wearing those pieces. Take them off so they maintain their quality.

So, remember to avoid these 5 S's and keep showing off your beautiful jewelry
